Shaker Heights Legacy Fellows
The Shaker Heights Chapter of the League of Women Voters Greater Cleveland offers a fellowship opportunity for a motivated student of any gender who is a resident of and attends a high school located within Shaker Heights. The LWV Legacy Fellow learns about the importance of active and informed participation of citizens in government. The Legacy Fellowship begins on September each year and ends in May, and provides a $1000.00 stipend at the end of the Fellowship year.
The Legacy Fellow assists the Shaker Heights Chapter and gains hands-on experience with:
- Civic engagement with nonpartisanship and best practices in a partisan election
- Voter Services and voter registration and petition drives
- Forums and panel discussions, including publicity and on-site details
- Advocacy
- Optional opportunity to plan and promote an educational presentation of interest
- Social media outreach
Shaker Heights Student Members

A student membership may also be an opportunity for students to earn service hours and government hours that go toward their high school graduation requirements.
