The 2020 presidential campaign is underway. With a little over a year to the “Super Tuesday” primary, nearly a dozen Democrats have announced their candidacy, including five women, the most in history.
In addition, former Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz expressed interest to run as a “centrist independent” and many Republicans, including former Ohio Governor John Kasich and others are rumored to be considering presidential runs.
In this moment, what does it take to run for President? Is America ready to embrace a third party or independent candidate? What—and who—should we be paying attention to? And, what affect will California, having moved its primary from June to March, have on the primary process?
